As I submit my will to yours, strengthen me so that I can show my friends, family and neighbours your glory. Please cleanse me so that I can live in purity. Holy Spirit, I thank you that through these trials, you are purifying my life, strengthening my soul and creating a genuineness of faith. Through the testing and trials you’ve gone through, or are going through, what impurities need to be removed in order to have clean hands and a pure heart? What areas of your life are you hardened on? Where is the Spirit of God calling you to be more genuine in your faith? Write these down and determine to stay the path in faith, submitting yourself to the will of our heavenly Father. Stay the path and know that God is working all things together for good as you continue to walk in purpose and calling, strengthened by the Spirit of God! We may not see it now, but these times of testing and refining build strength, purity and faith that will ultimately position us to tell others of the goodness of our King and Saviour. Although these “fires” are not desirable, when we submit our life to the will of the Holy Spirit, they begin to expose the impurities in our life, reduce our “hardness” and give us strength and flexibility for the purpose that God has for our life.ġ Peter 1:6-7 tells us that these trials test the genuineness of our faith and through this, positions us to, “praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ”. The fire breaks down our own hardness, but there is strength in learning to be flexible. The fire brings the impurities to the surface, but each of us must choose to remove them from our life. Whether it is a physical ailment, financial hardship, relational challenge or spiritual dryness, these times test the very core of our personhood. There are times in our lives when we go through fires and pressures that are anything but comfortable. Interestingly, the hardness of the metal is reduced through the fire, however its flexibility under pressure, or ductility, is increased, causing the overall strength and versatility to rise. As the heat is applied, the impurities come to the surface and are removed, leaving a pure metal. 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false. Through the process of tempering, steel and other metals are put into intense heat, where they are purified and strengthened. We can take courage, hold on, and be strong knowing that God is madly in love with us and that His good grace is available to us through the name of Jesus.“For hearts that burn with holy fear, purified in faith and deed, Good Grace by Hillsong UNITED is a powerful reminder of the grace and love of God. This is a reminder of the Bible verse from Philippians 2:9-11 which says, “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” We can praise God for His good grace and for His love for us through the name of Jesus. Good Grace by Hillsong UNITED is a powerful reminder of the grace and love of God. The refrain of the song reminds us of the name of Jesus and that He is our good God. This is a reminder of the Bible verse from Psalm 100:4 which says, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise give thanks to him and praise his name.” We can praise God for His good grace and for His love for us. The bridge of the song reminds us to swing wide all the heavens and to let the praise go up as the walls come down. The chorus encourages us to not be troubled and to fix our eyes on the one truth that God is madly in love with us. The lyrics remind us that we are all connected through the blood of Jesus and that He is our salvation and redemption.
